Frans K. Smit Lamed 2021
61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petit Verdot
Wine of Origin Stellenbosch
A distinctive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, all planted in 2003 at altitudes between 200 and 240 meters on a north-west facing slope. The Helderberg vineyard, located just 8km from the sea, enjoys ocean views. Select parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon were re-trellised at age 12 to ensure more even ripening.
Tasting Notes: Rich and complex, this wine offers a seamless, velvety texture with layered aromas of red currant and cacao. Its inky density – reflective of a high percentage of Petit Verdot – marks it as a wine destined for greatness.
Ready for drinking now until 2035.
