Grangehurst Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2001

100% Cabernet Sauvignon – A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) from four Stellenbosch vineyards (3 Helderberg, 1 Lynedoch). Fermented in open kuipe, basket-pressed and matured in new 225 litre barrels ? 92% French and 8% American oak. Racked from barrels after 22 months, then blended and bottled. Tasting note: Dark ruby, with slight garnet edge. Youthful violets, red berries & cassis complemented by cedar and vanilla aromas and flavours. Lively, spicy on the palate with firm, ripe tannins. This wine should develop and improve for at least 8 years from vintage.
