Hartenberg Gravel Hill Shiraz 2000

100% Shiraz – The Gravel Hill is a single vineyard wine which reflects the unique site it occupies on Hartenberg Estate. Situated on the lower, pure red gravel stone slopes of the Estate, this terroir produces our most expressive and intense Shiraz every year. The wine spent 23 months in 100% new French oak. 120 cases of this wine were sold at the 2002 Auction. Tasting note: Black, red deep colour. Rich berry fruit and savoury notes on the bouquet, with a mix of black pepper and spice. Mouthfeel is layered, concentrated and brooding. Truffles and earthy flavours show on palate with soft lingering tannins. Drink now to 2008. This wine was rated 4* stars in Wine Magazine’s March 2003 issue and judged their top 2000 vintage Shiraz for the year.
