Sijnn Syrah 2011 (1.5 litre bottles)

A selection of three old 225 litre barrels from a particularly low yielding (approximately 2 tons/hectare) section of bush vines on pure shale and slate ‘soil’. The wine was natural yeast fermented and matured in old barrels for 20 months. Bottled unfiltered. Tasting Notes: 2011 was a great vintage at Malgas. Dense, red berry and dark cherry fruit with damp slate, salty renosterbos and a subtle white pepper nose. A long, dry, complex palate with many years ahead.
