Kaylin Wilscott
Third Year Protégé

Kaylin Wilscott is from Somerset West, where she completed her basic education. She studied a BSc Agric in Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University. The more she learned about winemaking, the more it appealed to her due to her interest in anything science-related and the opportunity to conduct experiments at work. She is also passionate about producing a product that people can enjoy.
This is her third and final year as a Protégé, having been mentored by Frans Smit at Spier in her first year, JD Pretorius at Warwick Wine Estate in her second year, and now looking forward to working with Alex Starey at Keermont Vineyards as her final year mentor.
In 2022, Kaylin was part of a harvest and study tour in France as part of the second year Protégé curriculum organised by the Cape Winemakers Guild.
She has aspirations for a positive future in her career and relationships within the industry. She aims to be independent, ambitious, and inspire others through her life choices. She also strives to continuously set goals and never stop learning and growing as an individual.
