Lindelwa Panaso Msomi
First Year Protégé

Lindelwa Panaso Msomi is from Ulundi and has a degree in Viticulture and Oenology from Stellenbosch University. She was inspired to study winemaking by her mother and after graduating, was selected for the Protégé Programme. This is her first year on the Programme and she will be spending it at Hartenberg Wine Estate where she’s being mentored by Carl Schultz.
Lindelwa says that her “AHA” moment came during her first harvest at Stellenbosch University, where she learned about the beauty of wine and the winemaking process. She loves learning new things and enjoys teaching others, especially regarding debunking stigmas about wine in her community.
Her goal is to become a relatable ambassador for the wine industry by organizing seminars where people from different cultures can taste wine in an inclusive and educational environment. She hopes that the different cultures of our country can be reflected in South African wines one day.
