Bartho Eksteen Wine Estate Vloekskoot Sauvignon Blanc – Op Hout 2024

100% Sauvignon Blanc
Wine of Origin Cape South Coast

Widely recognised as one of South Africa’s most acclaimed Sauvignon Blancs, Vloekskoot continues to impress critics and collectors alike. Twice named South Africa’s Best Sauvignon Blanc by Platter’s, this wine regularly garners Platter’s 5-star- and Tim Atkin MW 95+ ratings. Jancis Robinson MW praised it as “fresher than Pessac-Léognan,” awarding it her highest rating for any white wine from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Dr Winifred Bowman CWM lauds its Cape soul and distinction.

Tasting Notes: A nod to Pessac-Léognan with a distinctly Cape identity. Flinty minerality, lime zest and pineapple brûlée are wrapped in finely judged oak. Focused and precise, with layered grace and a long, resonant finish. A wine of rare pedigree and poise.

If you can put away some bottles for a couple of years, you can delay the pleasure and have it back with interest for anything from 6 to 10 years after harvest
