Cape Winemakers Guild

Beyerskloof CWG Traildust Pinotage 2017

The grapes were hand-picked at optimum ripeness. Fermentation took place over five days in open casks with punch-downs every two hours. The average fermentation temperature was 25 ̊C. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matured in new French oak for 22 months. Beyers selected the best barrel of Pinotage for his last Cape Winemakers Guild Auction.

Tasting Notes: A big structured Pinotage with intense, dark fruit flavours. A complex middle leads to a smooth finish with pleasant aromas from the French oak. Great balance between fruit and oak will allow for ageing superbly in the bottle.

Ready for drinking in 6 – 8 years.
