Grangehurst Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2001

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from four Stellenbosch vineyards (3 Helderberg, 1 Lynedoch). Fermented in open kuipe, basket-pressed and matured in new 225 litre barrels (92% French- and 8% American oak). Racked from barrels after 22 months, then blended and bottled. Tasting note: Dark ruby, with slight garnet edge. Youthful violets, red berries and cassis complemented by cedar and vanilla aromas / flavours. Lively, spicy on the palate with firm, ripe tannins. This wine should develop and improve for at least 8 years from vintage.
