Hartenberg CWG Auction Shiraz 2015

As always, a blend of the Estate’s two best single site Shiraz plantings. A barrel of the flagship Gravel Hill Shiraz, growing in ferricrete stone pebbles, was blended with two barrels of near neighbour, The Stork Shiraz, that grows in deep, clay-rich, ochre-coloured Tukulu soil. The former lends structure and tannin to the blend, the latter, colour and intense berry fruit. The wine spent 20 months in French oak barriques, 35% new and the balance second fill. Bottled on 11 October 2016.
