Hartenberg Gravel Hill Shiraz 2004

This is the eighth vintage of Gravel Hill and also the longest running wine on Auction. The wine originates from a unique site on the lower slopes of the estate. The terroir consistently produces a wine of unique character, quality and expression. 2004 Gravel Hill had the smallest Shiraz berries ever seen on the estate. A full MLF was undertaken in barrel. The wine spent 17 months in 100% new, small, French oak barrels.Bottling occurred on 29 November 2005. Tasting Notes Dark-centered ruby-black rim. Bouquet is loaded with aromas of violets, white pepper, black and red berry fruits. The palate is all iron fist in velvet glove, sweet ripe fruit, and creamy, rich dry tannins make for a 10-15 haul.
