Simonsig Heirloom Shiraz 2018

100% Shiraz

Hand-picked Shiraz, French clone SH99 planted on a deep red soil in front of my house. Fermented in an old concrete tank with 22% whole bunches. Gentle pump-overs and délestage was done to extract fruit and colour. Total maceration time was 20 days and the wine was matured in new French oak barriques. Only the best two barrels were selected for the auction.

Tasting Notes: Juicy, ripe plum and mulberries complemented by white pepper and wild herb aromas. Impressive full-bodied structure with enticing wild herb and fynbos Shiraz expression. Lots of maturation potential.

Ready for drinking between 2024 and 2026.

This wine is packed in a wooden box.
