Cape Winemakers Guild

Spier Frans K Smit CWG Special Edition 2019

43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Cabernet Franc, 19% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot
Wine of Origin Stellenbosch

  • This is a single terroir wine.
  • All four varietals are from one property.
  • Previous vintages of this wine were made up only of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. However, with this vintage, we added Petit Verdot.
  • Following three consecutive dry years, 2019 was the first vintage that received normal rainfall.

Tasting Notes: Dark berry and cedar oak scents, with a great breath of rich, ripe flavours. Expressive but fine tannins that will become silkier over time. This wine has supreme balance with great ageing potential.

Drink now or in the next 10 to 12 years.
