“Becoming a member of the Cape Winemakers Guild is truly humbling. Membership in the Cape Winemakers Guild not only provides an opportunity to showcase South African wines to a global audience, but also a platform to contribute to the Protégé programme. I am honoured to be part of the exciting journey ahead.”
Reenen Borman earned his Bachelor’s degree in Oenology and Viticulture at Elsenburg and quickly gained valuable harvest experience at L’ormarins and Domaine des Martinelles in the Rhone Valley in 2010.
He then joined the family business in Stellenbosch and expanded his expertise through travels to Burgundy, Loire, Champagne, Bordeaux, and Priorat. Reenen’s early start and in-depth knowledge of the Boschkloof vineyards were instrumental in enhancing the quality of the wines produced there over the last 7 years.
The winery is now in a new era, with a focus on replanting most of the vineyards and selecting grape varieties that will thrive in the decomposed granite soils.
